NORWAY SPRUCE
Norway spruce is one of the most common trees in Danish forests, and it is one of the most popular Christmas tree species in Europe.
. It is only surpassed in Denmark by the Nordmann fir. The Norway spruce is considered by many to be the “original” Christmas tree, but as the tree dries out faster than the Nordmann fir, it drops its needles sooner.
However, the needle loss can be significantly slowed by putting the tree in water after felling, and only taking the tree indoors just before the festive season. The needles on the Norway spruce are pricklier and stiffer.
The Norway spruce is very hardy and is often grown in locations where the Nordmann fir does not thrive.
